Sky's the limit

Together for a long time, Steven and Philip were able to legally marry in Wisconsin, and did so in June of 2016. Before the ceremony, the couple and their two best men and I stopped at places in Madison, including the capitol building, Monona Terrace, and MINI of Madison (the Mini Cooper dealership.) We had spectacular weather, and were even able to corral a couple police on horseback to pose with the couple.

As awesome a day as it all was, we hadn't expected the sky to be so spectacular. This image was one of my favorites of the day, a strong silhouette with the power of the immense sky. And with that, there is delicate beauty, tenderness and grace.

After the photo session at the capitol, we headed to their beautiful home in Madison, surrounded by land, a valley, a pond, and awesome neighbors. The ceremony and reception were held under the exquisitely- decorated tent on their property. After the emotional vows, the couple enjoyed gourmet appetizers, a spectacular dinner, and dancing into the night. Many vendors and helpers were personal friends--I was an "outsider" but became a friend after the day progressed. The day was perfect, the images spectacular, and the event memorable.
