A father shows his young son an interesting bit of nature during a photo session at Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay, WI in Door County. Crossroads at Big Creek is a nature reserve with an educational facility, walking trails, walking bridges, woods, fields, and ephemeral ponds and streams. It's a perfect place to do family photos, especially if someone in the family understands the flora of the area (like this father.) The warm autumn afternoon had perfect light, and we did several candids in addition to the more posed photos. As usual, the candids are my favorites of the session.
