A mother holds her infant during a family photo shoot at Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay, WI in Door County. The nature preserve is a perfect place for autumn photo sessions, with walking trails, woods, fields, walking bridges, and ephemeral creeks and ponds. Our session started at Portage Park in Sturgeon Bay, along the Lake Michigan lakefront, then we moved to Crossroads. The light was perfect in the afternoon, and we paused to do photos of each parent with each child in front of some wildflowers. This special moment was one of my favorite images of the session.
