summer sizzle

I love shooting senior photos because it's a chance for kids entering their senior year of high school to truly show who they are. It's my job to see them, as they are, and who they are becoming as they enter adulthood. I take this very seriously. Lots of students are shy. Maybe lacking in confidence. Maybe unsure of the future. I want to help them unlock who they are, in photos. In the old days, senior photos were studio affairs, essentially a headshot to showcase hairstyles of the era. Nowadays, senior photos are a way to unleash creativity, and highlight personality. So, every session is going to be completely different. The only preconceived notion I have is to schedule during a time of good light, usually in the late afternoon or early evening. This session, however, was in the morning, and we got so lucky with a hazy summer day that helped highlight this gorgeous--inside and out--young adult. I was lucky to be her photographer.
